Promoting Student Welfare through a Comprehensive Approach

Positive Behavioural Interventions and Support (PBIS)

Positive Behavioural Interventions and Support (PBIS) is an evidence based three tiered framework to improve and integrate data, systems and practices affecting student outcomes. Tier One establishes the foundation of regular and proactive support for all students, school wide. Tier Two incorporates practices and systems that aim to support students who are at risk for developing more serious problem behaviour. Tier Three students receive more intense and individualised support to improve behavioural and/or academic outcomes. Students receive PBIS lessons every morning. Each lesson incorporates a different focus and aims to teach students attitudes and behaviour.
