Maarif Prep

Enrolling Now for Maarif Prep!

 

We invite you to complete and submit an online application for Maarif Prep at the International Maarif Schools of Australia.

Enrolment Conditions

  • Applications are accepted for children enrolling in the following academic year, with the expectation that the child will complete their education at the International Maarif Schools of Australia, contingent upon the child demonstrating appropriate behaviour and meeting the standards set during the Maarif Prep class.
  • Maarif Prep is available for children who turn 4 years old on or before 30th April, in preparation for entry into our Kindergarten class.

Class Schedule

  • Maarif Prep runs Monday to Friday.
  • School hours are from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Parents may pick up their child at 2:30 PM.
  • From 2:30 pm – 3:20 pm the children will be supervised for free activity.
  • The program operates during term time, in line with the rest of the school.

Fees

  • The fee for Maarif Prep is $6,000 per year (40 weeks).

Staffing Ratio

  • In accordance with government guidelines, each class will have two adults—a fully qualified classroom teacher and a second teacher or teacher’s aide.

Uniform

  • Children will wear the Maarif Primary School sports uniform, which can be purchased from the Maarif Uniform Shop once enrolled.

How Maarif Prep Supports Your Child

  • Maarif Prep focuses on developing essential skills for a smooth transition into formal schooling, guided by the Early Stage One outcomes of the New South Wales Curriculum and the International Maarif Curriculum. Children will develop:
  • Early reading and writing skills
  • Turkish language skills
  • Listening and speaking skills
  • Comprehension abilities
  • Scientific and mathematical understanding through reasoning and critical thinking.
  • Collaboration with specialists in Islamic Studies, Sports, Dance, Music, and Technology.
  • Interaction with Kindergarten teachers.

The program also emphasizes the physical, emotional, and social development of the child, and provides a coherent Turkish language curriculum.

Insights gained during Maarif Prep will help teachers tailor programs to meet the needs of each child as they transition to kindergarten.
